Colibri Takes Flight in 2022

The Colibri Collective soared to victory in the 2022 midterm elections, picking up key wins across the nation and mobilizing voters to defeat extremism, reject insurrectionist candidates and stamp out Trumpism once and for all. From Florida to Pennsylvania to our home in Arizona, we created real change alongside our partners, regaining our base and retaining Democratic control of the Senate. Through our intentional, targeted campaigns, we were able to drive higher turnout among youth, Latino, Black and Indigenous voters, leading to surprise wins in Georgia, Pennsylvania and others, including the passage of Arizona’s Proposition 308, which allows the state’s DACA students to receive in-state tuition. We battled the onslaught of disinformation through innovative voter protection campaigns, while increasing turnout through voter registration campaigns to counter Republican attempts at voter disenfranchisement. By the end of the midterms, The Colibri Collective delivered over 100 million digital impressions and distributed over a million mailers and lit pieces, many aimed at youth voters and historically disadvantaged communities. This led to the second-highest youth turnout in over 30 years and an increase in the Latino vote, which had a crucial impact for tight races across the country. As 2024 quickly draws forth, The Colibri Collective is readying itself for another historic election, driven by our desire to continue creating positive change in our communities.
