SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

As the Senior Communications Manager for Political, Educational, and Non-Profit clients, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and conceptual direction of our projects. Your creative vision and strategic insight will help our clients effectively convey their messages and achieve their goals, while ensuring culturally sensitive and impactful communication within the community.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Communication Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote the agency's services, culture, and achievements.

  • Align communication efforts with the agency's overall business objectives and marketing plans.

  • Discover award opportunities that can be utilized to showcase our leadership team and the accomplishments of our organization, write case studies, and proceed with submissions as required.

 

Internal Communication:

  • Foster effective internal communication within the agency, ensuring all employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with the agency's mission and values.

  • Oversee the creation of internal newsletters, memos, case studies, and other internal content.

 

External Communication:

  • Work with the communications team to support media relations as well as manage media relations campaigns.

  • When needed, serve as a spokesperson to represent our clients.

  • Develop, maintain, and identify relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.

  • Create communication strategies, and prepare press releases, op-eds, articles, messaging matrix, and other content.

  • Coordinate crisis communication efforts when necessary.

  • Support the business development team by producing quality responses to RFPs while following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone.

 

PR Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Identify key communication channels, stakeholders, and messaging for effective PR campaigns.

RFP Management:

  • Lead the management of RFP processes, ensuring timely and accurate responses that showcase TCC’s strengths and capabilities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for RFP submissions.

Political & Advocacy Communication:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for political clients.

  • Craft and provide compelling messaging tailored to campaign objectives while shaping, targeting, and refining messages to resonate with diverse audiences, emphasizing inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.

  • Manage media relations and coordinate press outreach.

  • Oversee public relations campaigns and events.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients.

  • Ensure alignment with campaign goals and objectives.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Oversee the creation of content for various communication channels, including website, social media, blog, and email marketing.

  • Oversight of The Colibri Collective’s social media content and create a social media strategy to increase followers and enhance engagement.

  • Ensure content is engaging, on-brand, and relevant to the agency's target audience.

  • Oversight of all Spanish translations.

Brand Management:

  • Protect and enhance the agency's brand image by maintaining brand guidelines and ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels.

  • Monitor online and offline brand mentions and sentiment.

​

Team Leadership:

  • Manage a team of communication professionals, including writers, translators, and public relations specialists.

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to team members.

​

Project Management:

  • Develop and manage the communication hours accordingly for each project.

  • Assign projects to respective team members.

  • Reconcile project hours and manage them effectively to ensure that resource allocation and cost-efficiency align with our campaign's strategic objectives.

 

Recaps & Reports:

  • Track and measure the effectiveness of communication plans using relevant metrics and analytics.

  • Provide regular reports and insights to agency leadership on the impact of communication efforts.


QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field is often required.

  • 5-8 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.

  • Ability to strategize and align communication strategies with overall organizational goals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with media outlets and journalists.

  • Skill in handling media inquiries and organizing press conferences.

  • Proficiency in leveraging digital and social media platforms for communication purposes.

  • Ability to inspire and lead a team of communication professionals.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new communication strategies.

  • Use data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies.

  • Adjust strategies based on performance metrics and feedback.

  • Collaborate with other departments and leaders within the organization.

  • Awareness of political and cultural sensitivities that may impact communications.

  • Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.

  • Ensure communications align with legal standards and ethical guidelines.

 
COMPENSATION

$72,500-$85,000 based on experience + bonus based on performance

SCHEDULE

Monday to Friday.
Must be able to work on site. Remote work is not available for this position.
