SENIOR MOTION DESIGNER

Colibri Collective is looking for a dynamic, visionary Senior Motion Designer who can elevate our award-winning team to new heights. The ideal candidate will possess a creative spark, a passion for innovation, and the ability to drive our projects forward with exceptional skills and unique perspectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Lead the conceptualization, design, and production of motion graphics and animation for various digital platforms (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Blender, etc) including social media, websites, advertising campaigns, and product UI overviews.

  • Recommend, research, and develop imagery (e.g., photography, illustration) to support creative strategy and execution, while conceptualizing and designing visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, layout drafts) to illustrate concepts for storyboard development.  

  • Stay up-to-date with new design trends, market trends, competitive marketing, and innovations, and apply new techniques to the work, and instruct the team on their appropriate usage.

  • Adhere to brand guidelines while fostering out-of-the-box approaches to enhance and expand brand visual identity.

  • Provide visible support and incorporate leadership’s feedback into design and animation work while helping build a unified team mindset.

  • Manage workload to ensure timely delivery while maintaining consistency in motion graphic storytelling.

  • Collaborate closely with departments, including designers, the Creative Director, and the communications team to ensure cohesive integration of motion graphics.

  • Contribute to the development of initial creative strategies to address core marketing and business objectives.

  • Engage with the account managers and project managers in client meetings to review briefs, build project plans, kick off projects, and present creative work.

  • Take the lead role and work directly with clients as dictated by the scope of the project.

  • Maintain high visual standards, and a strong attention to detail, client, audience, story, and context.

  • Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners to bring engaging narratives to life through projects.

  • Provide art direction, brand stewardship, and hands-on design and animation for projects.

  • ​Create illustrations, graphics or two/three-dimensional animation from conceptualization to the final product. 


QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in design, advertising, or a related field.

  • A minimum of (5) years + professional-level experience is required; (3) years as a senior graphic designer.

  • Strong portfolio that includes multichannel, collateral, and integrated, campaign work including political design.

  • Demonstrate proficient expertise in Illustrator, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Blender software as required by the job role.

  • Recognize that meticulous attention to detail is essential for ensuring projects are delivered punctually, within budget, and in alignment with the designated strategy.

  • Demonstrate creative conceptualization skills.

  • Proven track record in leadership and experience in working in multiple political cycles.

  • Must exhibit strong graphic design abilities, an understanding of the fundamentals of design (typography, imagery, storytelling, conception), experience working in a digital-forward environment, and the ability to direct and effectively communicate said knowledge with creative and non-creative colleagues.

  • Must exhibit outstanding design judgment and working knowledge of the client's business challenges to achieve the highest possible standards for all materials requiring design across all mediums.

  • Experience in digital design and marketing with the understanding and ability to direct the design of interactive and immersive experiences. 

  • Experience in basic website design is a plus!

 
COMPENSATION

$67,000 to $71,000 based on experience + bonus based on performance

SCHEDULE

Monday to Friday.
Must be able to work on site. Remote work is not available for this position.
